Post-Deadline Session...
Thursday April 9
I am delighted to announce that PECS-VIII this year will feature a one hour post-deadline session to report very recent results of the highest calibre and urgency in any topic in the field of photonic crystals and metamaterials.
The session will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 9 April, and will mark the conclusion of the conference. There will be a maximum of 5 talks of 8 minutes each, with 3 minutes for questions.
To be eligible for consideration, the research must not have been presented at any other meeting, either as a regular or post-deadline paper. It must not have been published in a journal, but work that has been submitted for publication is acceptable. In addition, the presenting author must be a registered attendee of PECS-VIII, but need not have a contributed or invited paper in the main conference program.
Submissions are due by 12 pm, GMT on Wed 1 April, 2009. Papers will be considered by the PECS technical program committee and the selected talks will be announced at the conference on Monday 6 April. The detailed procedure for submission of a paper for consideration follows below.
I sincerely encourage you to consider submission to the post-deadline session and look forward to seeing you at PECS in April.
